This is a digital story I created that tells a little more about home.

Hi, Arlene–What a great start on your blog! I appreciate that readers can really hear your voice through your writing’s tone. What program did you use to create your youtube video? (And for what else have you created videos? Instruction?)

OK,I was able to get the “approve” message. I used Adobe Photshop Elements and Premiere to create the digital story. I have used digital stories in my reading English classes (student created). We did illustrated word parts (Latin roots with stories) one semester and personal narratives other semesters. It’s a great project. I did a digital story about the value of developmental ed classes for those who think it’s for “dummies” kind of instruction. I do appreciate the feedback.

Fantastic blog! I love the tribute to your father. Your video brought back memories of my own father and my recent trip to the WWII Memorial in DC. My father fought in the European Theater and had those same nightmares. I also learned not to ask about the war. Thank you again for sharing such beautiful memories of your father

I must admit that my eyes watered as I watched your digital story. It reminded me of the times I spend with my grandfather and father in the tobacco and cucumber field.

      LaRonday,
I like to connect with people who know tobacco farming experiences. It is a unique heritage. I wouldn’t want to go back there, but my whole growing up life centered around it. Thanks for the feedback.
